Because Stronger Communities Are Built Side by Side
No one succeeds alone and nowhere is that more evident than within the Armed Forces community.
Behind every successful programme, every life-changing initiative, and every moment of meaningful support, there is often a group of people working quietly and consistently together. Collaboration is not always visible, but its impact is profound. It is the thread that binds organisations, teams and individuals into something far greater than the sum of their parts.
The Armed Forces Community Working Together Award @ Soldiering On 2026 exists to recognise and celebrate that collaboration.
This award honours a group of people, team, or organisation that has demonstrated an enduring commitment to collaboration, engaging with others to strengthen and support the wider Armed Forces community. It is about partnership with purpose and where shared values, trust and collective effort lead to real, lasting change.
Collaboration Creates Lasting Impact
Working together requires more than goodwill.
Listening, learning, compromise and a willingness to put the mission above individual recognition. The most effective collaborations are built on respect, clarity and a shared belief that we can do more, and do it better, together.
Across the country, there are countless examples of teams and organisations who work tirelessly behind the scenes. They join forces to close gaps, improve outcomes, and ensure that service personnel, veterans and their families receive the support they deserve.
This award shines a light on those collaborations and partnerships that strengthen and inspire confidence, connection and progress.

A Nomination That Says: “What You Do Matters”
To be nominated for the Working Together Award is to be recognised for something meaningful. It tells a team or organisation that their collaborative approach has been noticed and that their effort, patience and shared vision are making a difference.
A nomination can affirm the importance of partnership, boost morale, strengthen relationships and remind those involved why they chose to work together in the first place.
So, take a moment to reflect. Think about the teams, groups or organisations you have encountered. Consider their achievements, their approach, and the positive impact they have created by working collaboratively.
Then imagine what it would mean for them to be nominated.
Because when we celebrate collaboration, we reinforce the values that hold our community together. And when we recognise those who work side by side for the greater good, we help build a stronger future for all.
