It’s celebrations all round for the “Soldiering on Through Life Trust’.  Not only did it host a hugely successful Awards earlier this year but its Chairman Squadron Leader Tal Lambert has been made ‘Wing Commander’ – a highly prestigious and honorable position in the RAF to obtain.

Speaking about his promotion Tal commented, “I am delighted to have been promoted to the rank of Wing Commander especially in the current difficult ‘promotion climate’. I have been very lucky to work with some exceptional teams over the past few years and together we have been very successful in delivering a number of Defense achievements”.

During his Command tour at RAF Lyneham and Brize Norton the Communications Squadron Leader managed to carefully drawdown capability at Lyneham and transfer 3 Squadrons of Hercules aircraft including support systems at the same time as delivering a new IT system, launching a new collaborative IT working environment, doubling the size of Brize Norton (already largest Station in the RAF) to 8000 personnel, whilst simultaneously maintaining support for operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya.

Tal added, “In my spare time, I was also leading a team of volunteers who have recognized 30 people from across the Armed Forces Community in 3 national award ceremonies whilst raising a surplus of about £100,000 to fold back into the same military charities who nominated the Award winners.

“All in all, I put my success down to the incredible teams I have worked with both in the military and charitable sector along with the fabulous support of my family and friends who have joined me in achieving some amazing things. Thank-you all!’
