This Sunday, six runners will be taking part in the Great North Run in aid of Soldiering On.

Thousands of runners, joggers, walkers, elite athletes and fancy dress heroes will take part in this year’s run.

The 13.1 mile route begins in Newcastle upon Tyne, taking runners through the city centre towards the River Tyne where thousands of people will cross over the iconic Tyne Bridge and the Red Arrows will be passing overhead.

From there runners will travel through Gateshead while being entertained by many bands on the run! The route then leads runners to South Shields where, from that point, there is just over a mile to go. Thousands of people are expected to line the route, with the crowds getting louder as runners make their way down the final straight towards the finish gantry.

Johnny, Bretten, Michelle, Ben, Helen and Mark have been training extremely hard for this amazing run so that they can raise funds to support the charity. Along with all the ‘Hottie team,’ we wish them luck and thank them for helping to promote Soldiering On and raise money for such a worthy cause!

Good luck guys & girls!!

See if you can spot the team when The Great North Run is broadcast live on BBC One on Sunday 11 September, 09:30 – 13:30, with an hour-long highlights show on BBC Two at 18:00 the same day. They will be wearing Soldiering On t-shirts!
