Anna Soubry MP (Minister of State for Defence Personnel, Welfare and Veterans) hosted a reception in the Churchill Room at the House of Commons for the Soldiering On Through Life Trust and their industry partners and sponsors on Thursday 28th November 2013.

Wing Commander Tal Lambert MBE, the current Chairman of  SOTLT  introduced TV and Awards Host Anne Diamond who  highlighted a new ” 8-Voices 1 Story” exhibition that the Trust is organising for launch on 3 February 2014 at the MOD, Whitehall. The exhibition will tour military bases and private galleries throughout the country.

Anna Soubry MP & Anne Diamond who worked together at the BBC were delighted to be reunited and drew the Grand Raffle Draw together which, in the first year of operating, has raised over £30,000.

Raffle prizes included a magnificent Seat Mii S car, a sensational Breitling Chronomat 41 Watch, a beautiful DeBeers Diamond Pendant and a unique selection of Taittinger Champagne all donated free of charge to support the nominating military charities.

The Soldiering On Awards are held annually and are now in their 4th year and among the guests were some of next year’s nominees together with the previous year’s award winners who were greeted and supported by Miss England 2013 , Kirsty Heselwood.

An announcement was made to introduce the Soldiering On news site – Zeencastr (a new information broadcast system) and the evening finished with the presentation of a cheque for £13,500 for extra funds raised for this year’s nominated charities (5% to each of the charities supported) which included BLESMA The Limbless Veterans, Walking with the Wounded, Wings for Warriors, RAF Widows Association, SAMA82, RAFBF, RNBT & Hounds for Heroes.
